Our client is a well-established player in the civil construction industry, managing multiple projects across Melbourne and Victoria. With over 20 years of experience, they have successfully delivered some of the state's major infrastructure projects, including rail, transport, power, and water developments. About the role:
We are looking for a proactive and driven Accounts Manager to join the team. You will manage the accounts for several entities under the company umbrella, with the opportunity to grow alongside the business. As the company expands, your role will evolve, with potential future career growth into senior management positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts correspondence and management
- Weekly invoicing and payroll
- Entry of bills and reconciliations in Xero
- Quarterly superannuation and payroll reconciliation
- BAS preparation
- Loan account reconciliation and interest accrual
- Establish and maintain a new chart of accounts
- Prepare financial documents for finance or financial planning purposes
- Allocate costs to projects and provide weekly financial reports on projects
- Manage staff entitlements, including superannuation, long service, and redundancy
- Handle debtor management and follow-ups
- Reconcile credit card and debit card payments
- Work with accountants to manage taxable rebates
- A passion for people and strong communication skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounts, payroll, or a similar role
- Excellent understanding of financial processes and payroll systems
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage your own day
- Experience using Xero (essential) and a solid understanding of reconciliation processes
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management abilities
- Experience in the construction industry is highly regarded but not essential
